53
This documentation is included with the current UNRELEASED version of
54 Privoxy, v.3.0.20, and is mostly
55 complete at this point. The most up to date reference for the time being
56 is still the comments in the source files and in the individual
57 configuration files. Development of a new version is currently nearing
58 completion, and includes significant changes and enhancements over
61
Since this is a UNRELEASED version, not all new features are well
62 tested. This documentation may be slightly out of sync as a result

73 supplemental features, some of them currently under development, that
74 give the end-user more control, more privacy and more freedom:

78
Supports "Connection: keep-alive". Outgoing connections can be
79 kept alive independently from the client.

83
Supports IPv6, provided the operating system does so too, and
84 the configure script detects it.

88
Supports tagging which allows to change the behaviour based on
89 client and server headers.

93
Can be run as an "intercepting" proxy, which obviates the need
94 to configure browsers individually.

98
Sophisticated actions and filters for manipulating both server
99 and client headers.

103
Can be chained with other proxies.

107
Integrated browser-based configuration and control utility at

110 "http://p.p/" target="_top">http://p.p/). Browser-based tracing
111 of rule and filter effects. Remote toggling.

115
Web page filtering (text replacements, removes banners based on
116 size, invisible "web-bugs" and HTML
117 annoyances, etc.)

121
Modularized configuration that allows for standard settings and
122 user settings to reside in separate files, so that installing
123 updated actions files won't overwrite individual user settings.

127
Support for Perl Compatible Regular Expressions in the
128 configuration files, and a more sophisticated and flexible
129 configuration syntax.

133
GIF de-animation.

137
Bypass many click-tracking scripts (avoids script
142
User-customizable HTML templates for most proxy-generated pages
